Our hemp seeds oils are all made here in New Zealand from New Zealand grown hemp. Once the hemp plant reaches maturity it is harvested for the seeds and stalk. To make hemp seed oil, bulk seeds are cold pressed without any solvents to extract the oil.
The result is a nutrient dense, nutty flavoured oil that can be used for so many different things. With a perfect fatty acid profile, this oil also contains many key nutrients, vitamins and minerals.
Benefits
One key nutrient found in hemp seed oil is high levels of gamma linolenic acid (GLA), an anti-inflammatory component of omega 6 fatty acids.
Hemp seeds have been shown to have a range of potential benefits such as improved heart health, skin health, and a great source of vitamins and minerals.
The omega 3s and omega 6’s found in hemp seed oil have been shown to be effective in treating a number of skin conditions including:
Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis and Lichen planus
Another study has also suggested it can help skin become more resistant to bacterial, viral and fungal infections.
Uses
Hemp seed oil can be used like a nutritional supplement, taking 10-15ml of the oil per day. Alternatively, it can be added to food and smoothies to help boost the nutritional profile. Not to be used for cooking as to destroy the quality of the nutrients and good fats.
Ideally store hemp seed oil in the fridge.
